The little things, before the big things 🍂🧺

The little things, before the big things 🍂🧺

You know what they say…what happens with pumpkin spice & Christmas lights in 2026 arrives in the birth pool in Summer 2027.

Hey Prairie Families! 🌾

It’s that time again… I’m giving you a little heads-up about my Summer 2027 availability. ☀️

I won’t be taking on any birth clients with due dates between June 15th and September 20th, 2027.

After learning the hard way that trying to balance being on-call while my girls are home all summer doesn’t leave much room for actually being present with them, I’m choosing to protect this little pocket of family time again. 🧡

This work means so much to me, and honestly, I want to keep doing it for a long, long time. Taking intentional time off is part of how I make that possible.

Now… if you’re reading this thinking, “But Kristy, I really want YOU!” 😂 Then yes, we may need to have a little chat about the birds, the bees & your family planning calendar. 😉

Basically, if you’re hoping for a Summer 2027 baby and having me as your doula is important to you, the conception window is something we’ll want to be mindful of. I’ve included the dates in the carousel so you can see exactly what I mean.

BUT. And this part matters.

I know that not everyone gets to choose when they conceive. I would never want you to put your family plans on hold because of my availability. ❤️

So please do what’s right for your family. And if your due date lands during my summer off-call window, I’ll happily help connect you with some wonderful doulas who can support you.

Just wanted to give you the heads-up well before you need it. 🧡

Love you big! XOXO
Kristy

O C T O B E R 🍂 BIRTH MONTH

October mamas, it’s your month! 🧡

Baby could literally decide to make their grand entrance at any point now… so consider this your gentle little nudge to nest, nourish, prepare, and then put your feet up. 😂

🧺 Build the birth basket
🥘 Fill the freezer
🧊 Practice your coping tools
☕️ Go on some dates
🍂 Make your early-labour distraction list
🤍 Make a postpartum plan
😴 And for the love of all things prairie… REST.

Save this for later + send it to your October-baby bestie. 🌾

And a little October reminder…

I know this month can hold so many different things for so many different people.

Maybe it’s the month you’re meeting your first baby. Maybe it’s a birthday. Maybe it’s the month you were supposed to meet a baby you lost earlier this year. Maybe it’s a due date you’re carrying quietly. Maybe October simply brings up feelings you didn’t expect.

Whatever this month holds for you, there’s room for it here. 🤎

So my October mamas know I’m cheering you on. You don’t have to know exactly how this birth is going to unfold. You just have to meet it one moment at a time. 🧡

Now go eat something and put your feet up. 😂

May your latch be deep,
Your belly band stay tight through the night
And your boobs….stay doing their best 🤣🔥

Baby girl … we are controlling what we can. Now go have a fat nap.
